13 an hour 1 day ago 1 day ago 1 day ago Part-Time Library Assistant, Bergenfield Public Library The Bergenfield Public Library is seeking an energetic, flexible and customer-service focused individual for our busy Circulation Department.
The successful applicant will work as a team player to provide excellent customer service at the checkout desk.
They will have demonstrated the capacity to deal tactfully and courteously with the public and to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers.
Duties include direct patron assistance at the checkout desk (checkout, discharging, renewal, patron registration, settling fine, etc); answering phones; searching for materials in the catalog and on shelves; packing for interlibrary loan deliveries; participating in the Library's Passport Acceptance program and other duties as required.
Light lifting and bending required.
Strong computer skills are required; knowledge of BCCLS policies and procedures are preferred.
Those who speak multiple languages are strongly encouraged to apply.
The position is for up to 14 hours per week.
The schedule will include one evening per week (Wednesdays) and one alternating Saturday and Sunday per month.
Flexibility needed to cover shifts for sick and vacation times is preferred.
